But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” (Mark 10:14-15)
As a church, we believe that the Bible is the Word of God that is able to help people of all ages learn about who Christ is and what he did for us in his life and death. For this reason, we want to take every opportunity available to teach our children about God’s Word and help them see how it applies to their day-to-day life. In our Sunday School classes, we use The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum which does an excellent job of connecting each lesson to the message of the gospel. We then re-enforce what the children learned in Sunday School through the Children’s Church lesson.
We have Children’s Church on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of each month during the preaching portion of the worship service. Children will remain with their families during the music portion of the service and then will be invited to attend Children’s Church in our fellowship downstairs during the preaching portion of the service. Parents will be able to pick their children up in the fellowship hall immediately following the conclusion of the worship service.
Throughout the year, we host family nights that provide an opportunity for families to come together and worship. The purpose of this time is to allow families to spend quality, God-centered time together and to equip our families to do their own family discipleship.
Every summer, we host a week of Vacation Bible School for the children of our church and the community around us.
Our goal at First Baptist St. Clair is to provide a fun, exciting, and safe place for our children to learn about Jesus. All of our volunteers that help with the children’s ministry have completed a background check and training for their area of service.
